To bad that it's hard for older computers to have an OK FPS with this track thing:(
i get half the FPS compared to a normal vehicle...
but still it's a breakthrough showing what RoR can do!!

I just thought of a couple mods to make for this thing.  I was going to try making them myself, but the track thing's .truck file isn't documented, so I don't really know where to place these.

Anyhow, when I was driving it last night, it kept falling over backward or rolling down a hill sideways.  It's a bit top-heavy now.  I got to thinking of adding some outriggers to it to help stabilize.  There would be an outrigger on the back, one on the front, and one on each side, all with free spinning wheels so they don't drag the vehicle down when they hit the ground.  All of these would be on commands so they can be retracted for tighter quarters.  They would start out fully retracted so the vehicle looks and performs very similar to how it does now, but when extended, they would give it a much larger footprint and stabilize it a bit more.  Extend the rear wheels and it should actually be able to climb the rock think in Aspen Grove (it flips over on it's top on me there).  Also, the side riggers would act as flippers, which solves the problem of getting stuck on it's side all the time.

I can try to draw a diagram of what I'm talking about later.  Right now, I don't have the software on my laptop.

I want the same thing!  So, i guess means we probably want it to go faster than when it's in neutral, it also needs longer tracks if you ask me... ::)

Well the trucks are open source so nothing is stopping you from doing that yourself.. ::)

I'd assume that you have notepad and then there's the wiki, which is all you need.

wel i have started a little project of my own with this and its comming along pretty swell so far.
and about the credits make sure you remember donken. he was part of this too and he should be credited just as much as bonehead.
well my mod to this is a logging crane. its kinda like an excavator but this one will have a claw on the end and stablizers. i am designing it so that when i finish adding logs to ladee's groos island terrain. I am working on an entire logging pack (log truck, skidder, log crane, and a "real' log trailer). hope you like the progress on the log crane!
